Victoria Beckham : Business Spice

Victoria Beckham, ex Spice Girl, ex Posh Spice y ahora ícono de la moda (la verdad sí lo es), ha probado que los intentos fallidos de convertirse en solista son cosa del pasado y el grupo "cool" de la moda la ha recibido en su selecto círculo. Es (quizás con Gwen Stefani) de las pocas cantantes que ha sabido llevar un carrera aparte de buena, bien hecha en el mundo de la moda. Han pasado muchos, Lindsay fracasó con Ungaro, JLo lo intentó y perdió y Kanye...su notavada dió mucho (mal) que hablar. 

Pero Victoria es caso aparte. Su buen gusto y porte, no lo podemos cuestionar. No ha de saber ni coser un botón, pero sabe dirigir muy bien. Conoce la industria y muy cuidadosamente ha sabido dónde y cómo ir dando sus pasos, pasos atinadísimos. Y el premio en los British Fashion Awards como Designer Brand es prueba de lo buena que Victoria ha resultado como marca. Sus vestidos venden, sus vestidos estan en las alfombras rojas, sus vestidos en editoriales. Ya hasta en lentes y accesorios anda.


De ahí mi título, porque más que de pose y estilo, Victoria es la Spice de los negocios.

Gucci Hat by Night

Hello my fellow fashion lovers well this is what i wore to the fashion do last Monday - it was at the Coutts building on the Strand and i have to say i rather enjoyed it - the clothes were fab and the whole thing was rather exciting - being a fashion do i did not feel silly with a hat on by night - in fact i felt quite fashion!  So on that note - we are trying the flash - photography tips always welcome!! xx

La técnica de Mancandy

El día de ayer, Andrés Jimenez a.k.a. Mancandy, presentó su colección Western Batik. Hacer breve la historia de la marca, no es fácil. Mancandy se ha vuelto el favorito de todos últimamente. Una marca con una gran propuesta, y con prendas adecuadas y bien trabajadas. He de confesar que algo que me llama la atención de los diseños, son su manera de interactuar entre prendas que sirven a nivel editorial y también como ropa que puedes fácilmente ocupar (sus chalecos y chamarras para hombre por ejemplo). 

Y si seguimos esa línea de vanguardia, ahora sorprende hasta en la forma de presentar la colección. Después de su último desfile, Andrés optó por presentar su colección no en una plataforma o semana de moda, aunque su colaboración para Puma se presentó recientemente en Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, en esta ocasión presentó un show más mediático, prensa, editores y gente de la industria. Lo cual es de aplaudirse, en un país en el que los diseñadores no suelen arriesgarse y atreverse a hacer un show privado. 

Ahora con la ropa, la colección se compuso de vestidos, camiseros y faldas, los tonos pasteles como rosa y el nude (muy Mancandy) y en diferentes texturas. El lugar (la concept store Celeste House) decorado con flores y en un estilo muy western, fue el lugar ideal para presentar su show. El styling fue por Aldo Rendón.

Por último, reitero la especial atención y seguimiento que debes dar a Andrés y a la marca, tanto en sus propuestas o vía twitter (es un ávido tuitero) como a los acertados pasos que va dando.

One for the weekend - its that Gucci hat again!

Well this definitely is one for the weekend - easy, go-to, walk for miles (i know i keep harping on this one but how mad is my silly sit-down shoes world that this matters but hey, it does), i change the blazer, the polo-neck, the bag, the scarf even the jeans but the fundament is always the same, knee boot, skinnies, polo, scarf, blazer and this hat!  Oh how i love this hat - and in a while i will show you how it works for evening - i just kept it on - so if ever you see a silly fashion woman in London at night with a silly fashion hat - say hello - odds on its me.... have a very good weekend xx

El nuevo Diesel

Algo ha estado cambiando favorablemente en Diesel. Me estoy volviendo más fan ultimamente. Todos crecimos con Diesel, una marca que los jóvenes méxicanos abrazaron fielmente. Y siempre estuvo ahí, pero desde el show que fué mi hit, he notado que Diesel viene con todo, en verdad se nota un crecimiento total en la marca, sin dejar ese aire entre grunge y boho tan característico de la marca. The Show and what a show it is!

My fellow fashion lovers - life has been so very, very mad busy i have not had five to take out the old camera but i promise Thursday lunch i am taking off and doing the outfit thing - had the fabbest time last night at a showcase for Christopher Kane, Roksanda and Jonathan Saunders - took my friends 17 year old daughter, Francesca, who has just started at fashion college - very special evening.

Ignoring myself (just for the moment of course ..) i found the most amazing blog today - i am a big fan of the streetstyle photographers - and this one is seriously fab http://theshow.ru/blog/

Fashion and Franks Fave Fashionistas - Ece Sukan

Vogue Turkey's Editor at Large, vintage store owner, stylist and fashion phenomenon - Ece Sukan.  I guess when you own a vintage store it is no surprise that your style is eclectic, individual and head-turning - i find this lady so very inspiring xx

Now this is not somewhere i would normally go and yet it is perfect and that is why i opened with this shot because it opens my eye to something new that i love unexpectedly

Brights and black working perfectly

Again black and brights - which i dont do and now i think i may try

Personal fave - loving the leather vintage shirt and the Bette Lynch coat

Chain Mail tunic, over the knee boot - perfect with the grey and simple hair and makeup

Mexico´s Next Top Model

Mexico´s Next Top Model Segunda Temporada llegó a su fin. Así tan largo como suena, así tan rápido que se fué. Y vaya que hay muchas opiniones en todos lados. A una semana del episodio final, sería de más escribir los puntos relevantes. Porque repito, es de más hablar sobre el episodio final. Con decir que hizo 3 Trending Topics en México (Creo que 4). Las diferencias de opiniones (Que raro!) no se hicieron esperar. Que si debió haber ganado Nikoll. Que si Tracy no era buena modelo. Que si no tiene el potencial para ser supermodelo. Creo que eso , sólo el tiempo lo dirá. Lo que me viene a la menta es una plática que tuve con Óscar Madrazo, en la que me comentaba que la nueva ola de grandes modelos son con rasgos icónicos, facciones menos marcadas y rostros moldeables. Oséase, como Tracy. Y ya que menciono a Óscar, creo que esta edición se lució, fué mi favorito. 

Punto a notar fué el acercamiento con la industria de la moda en México, personas a quien vimos en los distintos capítulos como fotógrafos, estilistas y expertos en moda de nuestro país. Y por fin, el cierre con Tyra. ¡Que cierre! Es una tipaza por lo visto. Me hice su fan. 

Y así Tyra, su outfit Gucci (que todos notaron), Elsa, Óscar y los jueces, terminaron una edición más de #MNTM. Punto más para México y punto más para la industria de moda...en México.

My Hero Gala

Que genial resulta esto de celebrar a quienes en diversas áreas han apoyado la lucha contra el VIH. La organización AID for AIDS International premió a Miguel Bosé, Robert Duffy, Lina Moreno y Patricia Perez. Al evento acudió Marc Jacobs con Winona Ryder (♥), Robert Verdi, Maria Eugenia Maury Arria y Jesus Aguais.

Otros invitados fueron Rafa Marquez y Jaydy Mitchel, Carlos Campos, Gabriel Rivera Barraza, Chema Torre, Alexis Zambrano, Jesus Torres, Martha Cristiana, entre muchos más.
