Weeks Worth of White Tee: Day 5

Weeks Worth of White Tee: Day 5
I LOVE a puff sleeved mock neck.  There isn't a more universally flattering cut the exudes such feminity.
Pair that with an equally flattering pair of black skinny pants and some snakeskin pumps and we've got
ourselves an outfit!  The mustard jacket adds interest to the look by doubling as an accessory,
but any coordinating item can breathe life into your outfit. Let your pant and shoe choice be your
Guide.

Weeks Worth of White Tee: Day 4

So here's an ensemble that takes a stab at a pair of "fancy pants".  Embellished denim is all over the place
and is a no-brainer with a crisp white tee.  The additions are what make the outfit.  Make sure your bottoms
Stay in the two-tone category so that playing with color is a viable option. I stuck with the beige and medium
Blue denim that way my solid top options and accessory colors opened up a bit more.  Be creative!
This is where your outfit comes to life.

Weeks Worth of White Tee: Day 3

This outfit includes a bold alternative to jeans for your casual Friday attire.  Combine any of the accessories shown with either of the core look choices and possibly add an alternative shoe to the mix and the outfit possibilities exponentially increase.

Weeks Worth of White Tee: Day 3

Weeks Worth of White Tee: Day 2

This ensemble is meant to take on your full day.  By changing up some minor pieces in this look, you are
able to quickly transition from your workday to an evening filled with endless possibility, all with a simple white tee.

Accessorize That Thing Girl!

If I have to look at one more plain white shirt, black pant, black shoe combo I think I may die!  OMG, please take 2 extra minutes to accessorize and give your outfit life!  A simple scarf changes everything. I understand some of us like to keep it simple, however, invisible should never be an option! Below I started with the basics and included several add on items as complete game changers.  Lets get Creative!

Week's Worth of White Tee: Reloaded

This is a concept I developed in the past that never got the visual presentation on Nouveau.  The idea is completely unique and nothing short of genius. Take a moment to review the original post as we re-visit this piece of fashion infamy and give it the attention it so rightfully deserves.  I present to the world Weeks Worth of White Tee: Reloaded.  By the way, You're welcome;-)

It is my sincerist hope in life to make the world a flyer place to live for young black women.  We have to create what we want and look good while we do it, but we can't go broke in the process.  This particular experiment will gage how many different looks can be created and rocked from and assortment of 7 different white tee shirts, all purchased specifically for this particular experiment.  The rules are simple...

1. No other items can be purchased, the only new item can be the tee shirt
2. No tee shirt can cost more than $10
3. Every ensemble for the week of 6/1/13 must consist of white tee shirt, regardless of the place or event.

Hypothesis:  If I can prove through this experiment just how effortless fly can be, I'm hoping more women will want to contribute to our vastly small population ;-)

P.S. This experiment is dedicated to Printella, I'm doing this one for you.  Never have I met someone so beautiful w SOOO much untapped potential. U that nigga.

WEEK'S WORTH OF WHITE TEE: DAY ONE

See, That's The Mess I'm Talkin About!

I know I touched on this briefly in prior posts like "Don't Be a Sucker All Your Life", however, while online getting my makeup fix, I came across something that continues to sit on my spirit.  It aggravates me to no end and I refuse to remain silent any longer.  Below you will find an eyeshadow palette that is distributed by at least 3 different online makeup companies.  All 3 companies are distributing an identical product, right down to the name itself, EXCEPT the pricing.  I will have you know that I have 2 out of these 3 palettes and not one color in one row differentiates from the other.  This is exactly why I encourage people to be their own judges on what they rock with, listening to other folk and not looking for yourself will have you paying at least double every single time.  SMH, this is really sad!!

Sedona Lace 88 Ultra Shimmer Palette: $18.95

BH Cosmetics 88 Color Shimmer Eyeshadow Palette: $9.50

Ugggghhhh!!!!! Nobody Cares!!!!

Omg Omg Omg!  I had to take a second to post a baby rant of sorts....I Just Couldn't Take It Anymore!!

Ok, so I've been doing ALOT of recon on YouTube, you know, tryna get a feel for what's out there, see what other gals are doing, and get an idea of what the people want.  I'm all about paying homage and having fabulous instructors to lead the way.  I Love the honesty of Emily Noel.  I love the youthful exuberance and pure joy that Wing, Diva Makeup Queen brings to every video she shoots.  There are a few others that rock my world like RissRose2.

Sadly, there are MANY others that drive me CRAZY!!!

I will never mention a person's name.  I refuse to attack character.  I will, however speak about the choices made which are so blatantly displayed for the world to see.  Fair Game ;-)

First of all, stop addressing how you feel about packaging of different products.  When is the last time you sat down with your friends and discussed how you felt about the tube your new lipgloss came in?  It's completely unnecessary.  Stop subjecting the rest of the world to your idiotic OCD tendancies and ridiculous quirks.  WE DO NOT CARE!  Moreover, I am also completely disinterested in the one-sided opinions of label whores.  Yes people, they exist down to the bare essentials, even makeup.  Stop telling me how much you prefer your M.A.C products to anything else on the market.  If that is indeed how you feel, why even purchase another brand?  You know why?! Because, unless you are an artist receiving a deep discount on product, the average person cannot afford to buy it in that amount or frequency they would want ideally.

Unfortunately we live in a damaged creation that allows for a brand to thrive on name alone, not necessarily quality.  There are few that the two are one in the same, however, we have now allowed for a name to define how much we will spend on it, regardless of quality.  We have also been programmed to think that if its not expensive, it's not as good...False.

Stop carrying on for these cosmetic companies and providing free marketing.  You and your obsession is their most successful ad campaign.  These desperate attempts at getting the Cool Kid's attention are just as futile now as they were in High School.  It won't get your face on any of their posters and it most certainly will not gain you keys to the conglomerate.  It didn't work then and it will not work now. Makeup isn't your "in" to the "IT" crowd, so Stick to the Facts.***The Queen***

Met Gala 2013

The Met Gala turned out to be the event of the year, and we are in May, how about that! I still can´t believe the amount of stars that went to the Gala. Who would thought that there would be an event were super famous stars like Kylie Minogue and Renee Zellweger would hardly been noticed (I didn´t knew they attended the Gala until today). Actually, the correct question was: Who was not there? According to my whatsapp conversation with my friend, we agree that aside from Gaga, Bieber and Rihanna, everyone else was there.

Now, the dresses. The Met is THE red carpet of red carpets, simply because it moves around fashion, different from big red carpets like the Oscars. And for years, we have seen big movie or music stars walking next to the designer of the dress they are wearing. But what was new in this last gala?

The answer is MODA OPERANDI. Haven´t you heard something like: You see her dress? How much could that cost? I would die to wear something like that!  Sounds familiar, doesn´t it? Well, if you happen to have a huge amount of savings, Moda Operandi can now help you with all those dramas you once experienced and are now part of the past.

They put the way to buy high fashion to the next level. You are now able to pre-order the exactly same look that, let´s say, Emma Watson wore. You love Gisele? You can now order her Anthony Vaccarello dress. Now there´s no reason to make those inspiration "Get the look" to seem you are on trend, no no, now you can "literally" GET the look.

And no wonder, these MO girls were my favorite. LSD in Dolce and Gabbana, TTH in Thom Browne, Indre Rockefeller looking amazing in that Delpozo gown, who also did the Kate Mara strapless dress. Of course, the classics made their appearance: SJP, BeyoncĂ©, Madonna. Oh and I have no words to describe Rooney Mara. She looks stunning.

So, the Met Gala gave us a lot of material to talk about for at least a month, doesn´t it?

Illustrations by me.
