Casadei for Prabal Gurung

Andrew Yes

And because the holidays haven´t finish, here is a very original way to give someone a very cool and different gift. The pillows by Andrew Yes, who is honorary designer at BoffoShow House, I had already let you know about it here . All pillows hand-maded in the U.S.are very stylish and beautiful works of art. Also, they have incredible and colorfull designs. My favorite is this one.

THE LOOKS

They say: “The greatest ideas are the simplest.” Also I read that Leonardo Da Vinci once said: “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication”. Was it true? Don´t know, ... but Ok, enough with the inspirational quotes. (Which I found very cheesy, but they are all over my timeline).

So the point is, as you can read, THE LOOKS!!! Which looks? The ones that are very trendy and chic (?), but not very appropiate to use, unless you´re Ryan Gosling (??). The risky looks, as I call them. What is it with guys that feel coming out from a GQ cover? I´m all into the -IDON´TGIVEASH*T about what people think about me- way of thinking, but c´mon there are certain ways to wear trends. Black velvet blazer with red sweater and dark green bow tie? Are you Kany West?  NOOO!

So, let see...

Bow tie:  This can make you achieve a very amazing look, but you know, in NYC. But to wear bow tie buring a random fashion show, lets say, in Mexico, it can become like you are desperately to look like a Sartorialist guy, but don´t succeeded in the effort.

No socks: We all love to see Tommy Ton´s photos during Fashion Week in Milan for example. We all feel inspired (I feel also frustrated), but there are no ways for me to look great wearing oxfords with no socks. I´m not into that trend. I think I will never be. But if you´re an italian-look man attending the Dolce and Gabbana show, you´re quite perfect for wearing no socks.

Plaid blazer: This is really a great look BUT, just in gray. No color ever will be cool for a plaid blazer. Then again, if you happen to be a model, you can wear a purple one and you´ll be the one with the edgy yet great look of the night.

Doc Martens: These are a huge thing. They look extremely well in almost anyone, but you have to know youself very well in order to make them your thing. Otherwise, you´ll not rock them, as they are supposed to.

So, I hope to make my point clear. Life´s short to not surprise and take risks (cheesy quote again), but also is very short to make a fool of yourself by one look. So, whatever you like to wear it´s ok, just make sure these kind of looks need to go with simple items. Do NOT wear them together EVER! Make Leonardo DaVinci feel proud of his quote and achieve sophistication with simplicity.

Kate Moss / Stuart Weitzman

Can´t wait!

Mancandy / Nook

Hi-Low Is THE Look for Prom 2013

For Prom 2012, the Hi-Low Dress made a small ripple, but for 2013, watch for a huge Hi-Low splash. The added special feature this year is that on many of the dresses, the Low part of the garment will be detachable, so the girls will have the option of switching to a short dress for dancing comfort.
Imagine how the heads will turn as you spin into your 2013 Prom in one of these glitzy gowns. And the best part, the dresses already have begun to arrive at ETC boutique!
And again we continue our one-of-a-kind promise -- we won't sell the same dress to any other girl in your area of Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Missouri or Colorado! You and Mom also will enjoy the personal service you receive at ETC boutique because each Prom Girl is unique and special to us.

Rolando Santana / NOOK

Red Lips

Like the girl who wears it, a red lip is never boring. - Lauren Santo Domingo.

An statement and very cool quote made by LSD (@TheLSD) which reminds us that certain women can rule something simple as red lips. Why is it that women have the power to caught our attention with something that simple? Believe me, wanna try to change your whole outfit? Wanna give something extra to your look? Paint your lips. As I happen to noticed last week, where at a dinner party for my friend´s bday, I start thinking what was different on her, then I knew, she used her birthday as an excuse to wear red lips. The thing also is, that this kind of look cannot be like an everyday tool, it would ruin the essence. So, like my friend, is cool to wear it for special occasions, it will cause better effect. This is my opinion, cause either way, what do I know about makeup? Nothing. But what do I know about admiring women? A lot! So, girls, wanna upgrade any look, don´t waste too much money and buy a lipstick.

Garance Doré

I must admit that I´m a completely strastruck when it comes to my idols, specially when they are people who had inspire my little journey into becoming a story teller of my ideas and perception of fashion. At the Diane Von Furstenberg show, I ran into Scott Schuman, and I wasn´t sure about asking for a photo, but then I thought "who cares?"! So, first I told him about how major The Sartoriaslit was for me during 2010 and when the boom of the bloggers became a huge thing in that time. But then, I have to be honest, I was more attracted by her girlfriend Garance Doré. Her blog is #TotesAmaze and she´s clearly so honest and gives her interpretation of the world of fashion from her perspective. Anyway after talking like 3 min with him and fooling myself we were now friends we continue doing whatever we were doing, I , for example, was taking a picture of Miroslava Duma when I saw Garance coming in a very J.Lo´s way with her entourage and cameras around her (very Lindsay) and I was like WHAT?! No chat with her? I have a crush on her! Whyyyy?! When does she become a diva? Why she´s not with Scott talking to me? Ok enough. I was very dissapointed of her, thinking how different she writes and acts at her blog. I was so sad I couldn´t at least say how obsessed I am with her PMF videos, I feel like those little girls waiting for hours for an autograph of Justin Bieber and return home very dissapointed and angry. Ok, maybe I´m exagerating, BUT (lucky for Garance( Pffff )) two weeks later I saw her Pardon my French video when she was interviewing Amanda de Cadenet and they were really into a hurry, they were going to miss the Diane´s show. So Ok Garance, I forgive you and totally understand your little Kardashian scene. Btw I made a super tiny little cameo on her video. Now I´m the lucky one. PFFF.

Chamuchic

Let me talk to you about Chamuchic, a brand by Claudia Muñoz, which involves the talent of mexican artesans from Chiapas, well known for their amazing techniques and creativity, directing them into more urban and casual development in products, like ipad cases and bags. I met Claudia in New York, where she told me about her brand and process, and I really feel impressed by her passion to preserve the heritage of this culture. If you want to know more about Chamuchic visit her website.  She was recently, part of the Google + Fashion Week Mexico.

PS. By the way, Claudia went to New York to give a little conference and talk to the students at Parsons. (Just a typical day haha). Amazing right?

Michelle Harper

I´m sooo obsessed with the look of Michelle Harper. Here are some notes:

- Her hair. Look at her braids. I once read her husband used to help her with those. Talk about a patient husband.
- Her skin. My goood! If only! Her skin is flawless, does she sleeps in a bubble or something?
- Lips: Red. Just that.
- Glasses: Retro.
- Nails: Purple, to match her coat.
-Coat: PRADA!!!

Hoping not sound very starstruck, but really she´s beyond chic.

By the way, go to the Fundraising Campaign for Untitled Project, donate whatever you want in order to make this project happen. One of the cast members is Enrique Sapene.

This is cool!

Kyle Anderson

There´s two thing I love about Fashion Week: clothes and people. And before the Diane Von Furstenberg show, I found Kyle Anderson, who I once interview, with THE accessory, the Givenchy nose ring, and a beautiful clutch by Jil Sander. He is just amazing!
